MEDIA ADVISORY PORTS OF INDIANA-BURNS HARBOR
Ports of Indiana will host a grand opening ceremony for the new Berth 5 at Ports of Indiana-Burns Harbor, marking completion of a multi-year, $6 million project to increase capacity at the Lake Michigan port.
The event will take place at 12:30 p.m. (CT) Thursday, Sept. 5 at Berth 5, near the northeast corner of the Burns Harbor port. It is being held in conjunction with a Ports of Indiana-sponsored picnic for members of the International Longshoremen Association, the International Union of Operational Engineers and other port workers in honor of Labor Day.
