U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION MARITIME ADMINISTRATOR MARK H. BUZBY TO PRESENT $13.4 MILLION PORT INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT GRANT CHECK TO THE PORT OF SOUTH LOUISIANA

On Friday, February 21 at 9 a.m. CST, U.S. Department of Transportation Maritime Administrator Mark H. Buzby will join Senator Bill Cassidy, Senator John Kennedy, and Representative Garret Graves in presenting $13.4 million Port Infrastructure Development Grant check to the Port of South Louisiana for the Globalplex Multi-Modal Connections Project.

The project is fully intermodal in that it will include a new heavy capacity dock access bridge, an access road, a rail spur, and a dry storage area with conveyors to move bulk material. The project’s elements add missing multimodal connections and improve the performance of the existing facility, increasing the Globalplex’s value as an economic development asset.
