SENcon: SENNEBOGEN control system on new technology platform

SENcon, the SENNEBOGEN Control System, is the integrated control system from SENNEBOGEN. Compared to the latest generation, it impresses with many new, intelligent functions that support both the driver and the fleet operator and enable optimal handling of the machine – for maximum availability and efficiency.

Customizable driver profiles

The new SENcon is particularly user-friendly at first glance, as all basic functions can be controlled on a single, intuitive, 10-inch touch display in the cab. If this is not desired or the situation does not allow it, it is possible to assign individual functions to switches or buttons. This is just one example of the customisability of the system, as the operator profiles allow the operator to tailor the machine to his or her own individual needs. On the one hand, comfort and control elements in the cab such as automatic climate control, the radio as well as joystick and speed settings can be personalised, increasing driver comfort and concentration. In addition, certain machine parameters can also be saved, for example, that are common for a specific application or adapted to a specific driver. This not only increases efficiency and precision in multi-shift operation or during changing tasks, but also makes the cab the very personal area of the respective operator.

Helpful assistance systems and (partial) automation

In addition, the new control system from SENNEBOGEN offers various useful assistance systems that ensure increased safety and accuracy during operation: Starting with the Virtual Wall, a virtual boundary thanks to which the system locks as soon as the boom would exceed it, to the continuous weighing of the loads in the gripper, which can be used, among other things, to effortlessly record the handling performance of the excavator. Machines equipped with the new SENcon are also prepared for partial and/or full automation. This means that repetitive work sequences will be able to be automated in the future, relieving the driver and increasing productivity at the same time.

Real-time machine monitoring with diagnostic tool

Another important point is the machine’s ability to communicate, which is reflected in the diagnostic tool. The machine gives the operator real-time insights into the most important parameters, helping them to correctly assess the condition of the machine and get the optimal performance out of the situation at hand. The operator can thus make decisions efficiently and quickly on the basis of real data.

By networking the system with the SENNEBOGEN Troubleshooter, the driver can also find all the solution steps directly with regard to possible troubleshooting. In addition, customer service can switch to the machine for diagnostics without having to be on site. The service technicians can already offer solutions remotely or get an overview, for example, in order to arrive with the right spare parts right away. This not only saves valuable time and service costs, but also increases machine availability.

Over-the-air software updates for maximum availability

Another advantage of the new SENcon is that software updates can be transferred easily and conveniently “over the air”. This means that the machine always remains up to date with its performance thanks to regular and easy-to-install updates. In addition, new functions (for example with regard to automation) can be installed or activated long after the purchase. Here, too, there is no need for the corresponding on-site service deployment.

Continuous analysis and machine optimization

The communication capability of the control system not only ensures that the driver is informed in the best possible way, but by connecting to the SENtrack telematics system, the fleet operator also receives a large amount of data that allows him to analyse the machine or his entire fleet in detail. This makes it possible, among other things, to analyze the performance and utilization of the machine and the driver and to identify optimization potentials. Energy saving potentials and predictive maintenance work can also be derived from this.

All in all, the intelligent networking and communication capability of the new SENcon control system has created the basis for the long-term technological development of SENNEBOGEN machines – with technologies and functions that leave all possibilities open for the future for our customers and users.
