NEW EQUIPMENT ADDED TO JEFFERSONVILLE’S CARGO WAREHOUSE
Forklifts and rail car mover aid productivity.
Ports of Indiana purchased two Hyster forklifts and a Hercules Trackmobile for the Indiana Cargo Crossroads operations. The forklifts provide additional product handling capacity for the growing portfolio of business in Jeffersonville, both in terms of tonnage and additional warehouse footprint. The trackmobile adds flexibility for rail car movements on the lower bench at Jeffersonville.
The equipment is in addition to the $24 million in infrastructure enhancements that added nearly four miles to the port’s existing 11-mile rail network, a waterfront intermodal facility and three-acre transload facility. The project has enhanced and overhauled the railroad infrastructure and intermodal capabilities throughout the entire port.
