Liebherr LHM 550 for A. Henriksen Shipping A/S in Denmark

Rostock (Germany), February 2017 – The Danish company A. Henriksen Shipping A/S recently signed a contract for a new multi-purpose Liebherr mobile harbour crane, type LHM 550 with a total lifting capacity of 144 tonnes.

Operating out of the ports of Frederiksværk and Hundested, north of Copenhagen, the Danish company A. Henriksen Shipping A/S offers a wide range of services within shipping, transport and logistics. The company was established in Copenhagen in 1934 and has for decades served local as well as international customers with high quality solutions. Today A. Henriksen Shipping efficiently handles most types of cargo including bulk, break bulk, ro-ro, heavy lift/project cargo, etc.

In 2007, A. Henriksen Shipping bought their first Liebherr mobile harbour crane LHM 400. Since then the company was highly satisfied with the reliability and the performance of the crane. That is why they opted for another Liebherr product in order to boost their terminal productivity. Ten years after the first LHM purchase, they will shorty celebrate the arrival of a new LHM 550 at the port of Frederiksværk in which A. Henriksen Shipping is loading and discharging some 400 ships per year.

Handling of steel slabs

The new mobile harbour crane, type LHM 550, will be used to lift steel slabs with a total weight of up to 61 tonnes each. With a maximum lifting capacity of up to 144 tonnes the new machine will be also be in use for heavy lift/project cargo operation. Teddy Folmer, the CEO of A.
