Description

Starlinger & Co GmbH

Starlinger leads the world market in production machinery for woven plastic packaging such as raffia sacks, FIBCs, and other technical textiles. Sacks produced on Starlinger machines are in use worldwide as safe and durable packaging of various dry bulk goods, e.g. cement, chemicals, seeds, grains, flour, sugar, citrus fruits, fertilizer, animal feed, and similar products. The company has been in this business for over 50 years and also looks back at more than 30 years of experience in plastics recycling technology.

Woven plastic packaging solutions for dry bulk goods

A renowned A to Z supplier of high-quality machines for woven plastic packaging production, Starlinger manufactures tape extrusion lines, tape winders, circular looms, laminating and printing lines as well as conversion machines for producing various types of sacks. Among other packaging solutions, the company developed the patented AD*STAR® block bottom sack, a highly resistant and break-proof valve sack popular for packaging cement and similar dry bulk materials and suitable for the newest automatic filling and bagging machines. The production equipment for this type of sack is only available from Starlinger.

Sustainability for industrial packaging

Its latest milestone Starlinger achieved with the development of the production technology for FIBCs made from recycled PET and recycled PP. This concept, called “Circular Packaging”, allows the establishment of a closed packaging loop for industrial bulk packaging such as FIBCs: Used FIBCs at the end of their life-cycle are collected, recycled and turned into new FIBCs. The FIBCs produced from the recycled material fulfill all necessary requirements regarding strength and safety just like FIBCs made from virgin resin. Being the first supplier of this technology, Starlinger aims to introduce more sustainability in industrial plastic packaging by reducing raw material consumption and CO2 emissions. The “Circular Packaging” concept will also help plastic packaging users and producers to meet existing and future government regulations regarding recyclability and recycled content in plastic packaging.

Technical support and service all around the world

Starlinger sales and service centres in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, the USA and Uzbekistan as well as numerous local technical teams and agents ensure quick and comprehensive support as well as technical consulting, thereby enabling packaging producers to achieve optimum results. Satisfied customers in over 130 countries testify the outstanding quality of Starlinger machinery.
