SENNEBOGEN 865 E 27% less fuel consumption

Throughput doubled – consumption reduced

Performance doubled – consumption reduced: With the SENNEBOGEN 865 E Hybrid, the Port of Sutton Bridge has almost doubled its annual throughput – while reducing fuel consumption by 27%. The impeccable service provided by SENNEBOGEN’s sales partner, Molson, prompted the port to order another identical material handler.

Handling of scrap metal, packaged sand, cement, fertilizers and bricks

Located on the British east coast, the dry cargo terminal is part of the Goldstar Metal Traders Group and specializes in handling scrap metal, packaged sand, cement, fertilizers, and bricks. Thanks to its robust quay construction, it is increasingly focusing on heavy cargo. The 350-meter-long quay can reliably handle ships up to 3,000 DWT , and at high tide, even ships up to 5,000 DWT are possible.

fast and precise handling between ship and truck

The SENNEBOGEN 865 E excels in port handling at Sutton Bridge with its 24-meter reach and a 1.8 m³ multi-shell grab with integrated scale – for fast and precise handling between ships and trucks. The mobile undercarriage with solid rubber tires ensures optimal maneuverability on the port grounds. The 865 E combines a powerful yet efficient 261 kW diesel engine with the SENNEBOGEN Green Hybrid recuperation system , which further reduces operating costs by up to 30%.

27% LESS CONSUMPTION

“This year we will reach around 200,000 tons of material handled, which would not have been possible without the new SENNEBOGEN 865 E. At the same time, we are using less fuel. 27% less consumption saves us approximately 19,000 pounds per year ,” emphasizes Port Manager Gavin Patrick.

Unrestricted view into the ship’s hull and truck

The two drivers at the Sutton Bridge site work efficiently every day. “It’s a very comfortable cab for long shifts,” adds driver John Baggaley, who appreciates the spacious Maxcab cab for its all-around visibility and operator ergonomics.

Features such as DAB radio, Bluetooth, and a heated driver’s seat ensure a comfortable experience. The Skylift height adjustment of the cab also allows for working at the optimal height for an unobstructed view into the hull of ships and trucks.

impeccable service from the service partner Molson

Port manager Gavin Patrick particularly emphasizes the impeccable service provided by the service partner Molson: “When a hydraulic hose came loose late in the evening, the machine was ready for use again by 7 a.m. the next morning. We now have so much confidence that we have already ordered a second, identical machine.”

With significantly increased handling capacity and simultaneously reduced fuel consumption, the SENNEBOGEN 865 E Hybrid has made the Port of Sutton Bridge ready for further growth. The order for a second machine underscores the expansion strategy and the confidence in this powerful and efficient technology.
