New harbor machine with 32 m range

At bauma 2025, SENNEBOGEN is launching a new material handler for demanding port handling applications: the 875 G Hybrid. The new model impresses not only with its impressive reach and load capacities, but also with the brand-new SENcon control system, which allows man and machine to work together in a completely new way. The proven Green Hybrid recuperation system also makes it highly efficient in operation.

195 t material handler – 6th machine generation

The SENNEBOGEN 875 G Hybrid is a 195 t material handler from the 6th generation of the G-Series, perfectly suited for the demanding port segment . The machine will be launched in time for bauma 2025 and will be on display at the in-house exhibition in Straubing .

For all ship sizes up to Handysize

The successor to the 875 E Hybrid impresses with its performance data alone. It boasts an increased reach of up to 32 m , covering all vessel sizes up to Handysize with 35,000 DWT and a beam of 27 m . In addition to the reach, the lifting capacities have also been increased by an average of 10%, especially for radii over 10 m. This means that the 875 G Hybrid demonstrates its power especially when long outreaches are required. As a representative of the new G Series, the harbor dredger not only operates extremely sensitively and quickly, but is also efficient and resource-saving. Selectable, preset operating modes for fast handling movements, maximum precision , or heavy-duty lifts ensure that optimal operating parameters can be used at all times.

Low operating costs thanks to recuperation system

The new harbor material handler also excels in terms of energy efficiency and driver comfort. It not only features state-of-the-art Stage V engine technology, which can also be operated with HVO, or optionally with a particularly energy-saving electric motor , but also the intelligent Green Hybrid energy recovery system . Thanks to the additional hydraulic cylinder on the boom and a nitrogen accumulator at the rear, the machine can temporarily store the energy generated when lowering the boom and return it to the system when it is subsequently raised. This innovative energy recovery method has not only proven itself to be extremely safe and reliable for 12 years , but also saves up to 50% in operating costs.

Wide variety of equipment variants

The well-known SENNEBOGEN modular system allows for a wide range of customer-specific equipment options for this model, as with all other material handlers from the brand . Customers can individually optimize the machine to suit their requirements and spatial conditions. For the undercarriage, for example, they can choose between crawler, mobile, or rail versions, with or without a gantry. The drive can be diesel or electric, and the flexibly adjustable Skylift cab elevations can also be configured to suit the application, enabling a viewing height of up to 15 m. The 195 t machine also offers an enormous variety of configurations for the boom , with outreaches from 21 to 32 m.

New large cabin for the port: “Portcab”

The cab concept has also been revised and clearly places the driver and their daily work with the machine at the center. The new spacious cab for the port, the SENNEBOGEN Portcab , offers an optimal sense of space thanks to its open design. It also features a sophisticated heating and air conditioning concept as well as ergonomic seating and controls that make the driver feel comfortable and promote concentration. Large front and side windows as well as floor panes made of safety glass allow an unobstructed all-round view and a perfect view into the ship’s hull. Cameras also support monitoring of the safety zones. A 360° visualization can be found here.

Added to this is the new 3.50 m cab adjustment, which is particularly robustly constructed and brings the driver even more smoothly to the maximum viewing height of 15 m .

SENcon control system: human-machine interaction

A key advantage when it comes to interacting with the machine is the latest generation SENcon control system . This is not only extremely intuitive – all key functions can be controlled via a 10-inch touch display – but also highly customizable. Using storable driver profiles, the machine can be individually configured for each driver or a specific application . For example, the most important functions can be assigned to buttons and switches outside the display if the operator prefers this or the situation requires it. The driver is also supported by intelligent assistance systems. The improved communication capabilities of the machine, which come with the new control system, also allow remote access to the machine and remote diagnostics of its condition and performance . This not only helps fleet operators optimize their fleet but also contributes to avoiding costly on-site service calls.

New superstructure concept for greater serviceability

Particular attention was also paid to a service-friendly design. Thanks in no small part to the walk-through uppercarriage, all maintenance and service points on the 875 G Hybrid are easily accessible. The new uppercarriage concept also optimally protects all components, including the control block, from external influences such as rain, snow, and dust. The internal piping for the hydraulic lines on the boom also offers a clear advantage in terms of robustness and durability without compromising accessibility. A special service canopy on the uppercarriage makes work easier for service personnel in all weather conditions.

To be visited in Straubing

The new 195-ton port handling machine can be viewed live at the SENNEBOGEN in-house exhibition in Straubing during bauma, from April 7 to 13, 2025. Interested customers will be provided with a shuttle bus directly from the trade fair in Munich to the exhibition and back . Registration for this service is available through the responsible regional sales and service partner .
