Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022. To commemorate this important milestone, the company is celebrating its success over five decades, while looking forward to building a brighter future, together with its dealers and customers.

A variety of events are scheduled throughout 2022 and promotional materials will be published to mark the company’s golden anniversary, including a special bauma presence in October. A logo has been unveiled, demonstrating the company’s continual progress with its circular design, and highlighting the strong partnership it enjoys with its employees, dealers, machine owners and operators.

Celebrating success

HCME has come a long way since its foundation in Oosterhout in 1972, with four employees, led by Mr Okajima, and two years after Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (HCM) was established in Japan. Over the past five decades, it has evolved into a successful multinational organisation, with first-class production facilities in The Netherlands and supported by an extensive dealer network.

Today, with its headquarters based in Amsterdam, it employs over 500 people. Built on strong values of honesty and sincerity, respect for the environment, social consciousness and respect for others and responsible management, the company focuses on delivering reliable, customer-centric solutions to customers across Europe, parts of Africa and Israel.

Building our future

Looking to the future, HCME is building on its reputation for manufacturing reliable, high-quality and technologically advanced equipment to offer in-house customised solutions or in partnership with leading suppliers. It is welcoming the shift to digitalisation with leading remote monitoring solutions and technologies. And it continues to strengthen its relationships with people and partners, as it expands its rental and used equipment programmes, and provides invaluable support to customers throughout the life cycle of their equipment.

The next generation of Hitachi machines is already building the future – the Zaxis-7 excavators and ZW-7 wheel loaders have been designed to improve profitability for owners, with exceptional fuel-efficiency and reliability, and offer unrivalled levels of comfort and safety for operators.

HCME President Takaharu Ikeda says: “We look forward to celebrating our past successes with our employees, their families, and our suppliers and dealers – it is thanks to their passion and dedication that we are celebrating this notable milestone.

“We also thank our loyal customers for placing their trust in our construction equipment. We recognise the role it plays in creating the buildings and infrastructure that are essential to our lives, and our responsibility to support our customers in their activities.

“Together, we embrace the future and the challenges it holds, as we aim to become the first-choice solutions provider for our customers, helping to build a better, sustainable future for all.”
